Board of Directors

 

Lincoln Krochmal, MD
Dr. Krochmal is a Board certified Dermatologist with 28+ years experience in the pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries focusing on the development of new products both locally and globally. His most recent role was as CEO & President of Excaliard Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that he was Executive Vice President, Research an Product Development for Connetics Corporation, a specialty dermatology company headquartered in Palo Alto. Following 3½ years with Connetics, Dr Krochmal formed his own consultant business providing strategic guidance and technical assistance to the pharmaceutical and aesthetics industries.


Dr. Krochmal began his career in the pharmaceutical industry following 8 years of private dermatology practice by joining Westwood Pharmaceuticals (the dermatology subsidiary of Bristol-Myers Squibb) in 1983 as Director of Clinical Research. Over the subsequent 10 years, he held several roles of increasing responsibility including VP, Dermatology Research and Development  overseeing both preclinical and clinical disciplines, and VP, Worldwide Medical Development providing global support in Biostatistics & Data Management, Human Pharmacology, Drug Safety, Medical Communications and Clinical Study Field Operations to all 5 Therapeutic Areas of Bristol-Myers Squibb. In 1993, Dr Krochmal joined Unilever PLC, where he spent the next decade in various senior management positions directing the worldwide development of numerous consumer products for the Home and Personal Care Division.

 

Dr Krochmal received his Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree from the University of Wisconsin, his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin, and his board certification in dermatology following successful completion of the residency training program at the University of Missouri Medical Center. In 2005, Dr. Krochmal was appointed to the Board of Directors of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology. In August 2007, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of Quinnova Pharmaceuticals. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, and a member of the International Society of Dermatology and the Dermatology Foundation.


During his career, Dr Krochmal played a pivotal role in the approval of 15 NDAs/ANDAs for new topical dermatologicals including LacHydrin®, Ultravate®, Dovonex®,  Evoclin®, Verdeso®, Olux-E®  and Extina®.

 

 

Vincenzo R. Marra

Vincenzo Marra born in Rome, Italy, earned an Engineering degree in Italy. He attained accreditations in Milan, England (Advanced Engineering Education) and George Washington University, In Washington D. C. Marra entered the field of Asthetics and Beauty in 1992, first representing a major Company. In 1997, by founding Italian Beauty Innovations, a state-of-the art, “made in Italy” skin care company serving renowned Spas in both Europe, the USA, Canada, and the rest of the world. In 2001, he created “the Renaissance of Beauty”, the largest Made in Italy Spa product supplier for Professional Aesthetics. Today Vincenzo spends most of his time writing and contributing, where he can, to help those in need.


Vincenzo,  along with his family has created a non-profit foundation focusing on the needs of education, especially for talented students at the high school and college level who are dependent on financial aid to continue their studies. Vincenzo was a member of the Board of Directors of NIAF (National Italian American Foundation) headquartered in Washington, D.C., Regional V.P. for New York and he has acted as Advisor to the Chairman for more than twenty years. He sits on the Advisory Board of ISPAF (International spa & Fitness Association Foundation) as well as the AAEA (American Aesthetician Education Association), and AEFA (Aesthetics Education Foundation of America).  


In 2002, Vincenzo Marra was named “Man of the Year” for his work with the Children’s Skin Disease Foundation. 

 

 

 

Donald Tenconi

Don Tenconi is an attorney representing clients in complex business litigation as well as counseling clients regarding technology licensing and international law in Walnut Creek, California and Washington, D.C.
 
A native of Contra Costa County, Don graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in bacteriology (now microbiology) and a minor in environmental chemistry.  Don has extensive business experience serving in senior management positions in numerous companies including Anti-Surge Corporation and the Industrial Environmental Services Division of IT Corporation. He then received his law degree from the University of San Francisco.

 


Francesca Tenconi

Francesca Tenconi is a native of Contra Costa County. When she was 11 years old, she was diagnosed with Pemphigus Froliaceous, a rare and potentially fatal skin disease.  She endured over six years of treatments, procedures and great pain before finally bringing the disease under controlled.  Today, she uses her unique insights from this ordeal to help other children.  In 2000, Francesca formed a foundation for children with skin disease.
 
Francesca graduated from Duke University with a B.S. Degree majoring in Cognitive and Developmental Challenges of Children with Chronic Illnesses. She has completed the Post Bachelor/Premedical program at the University of Southern California and hopes to become a Pediatric Dermatologist.
