How CSDF is helping our families during COVID-19!

Over the past 20 years, CSDF and Camp Wonder has created a community and family rooted in support and acceptance for those with skin disease.  The children and families we serve are particularly vulnerable during this current health crisis.  To continue our mission during these challenging and scary times, we are providing the following services and programs to our families:

  • Grocery gift cards for those who have been financially impacted by job loss or other loss due to COVID-19,

  • Access to medications, creams and/or lotions for those having trouble securing these vital products,

  • Hosting online programming (read below) to uphold the emotional and psychological support and connections that the Camp Wonder community provides children with skin disease. As always, these programs are provided at no cost to the families, through generous donations by our sponsors.

During this temporary time when we are unable to come together physically at Camp Wonder, we are committed to our legacy  of supporting children with skin disease by offering “Camp Wonder 2020: Camp Out”, a series of virtual activities to continue our connection and further support each other!

Below you can see some numbers and quotes that show the impact and success of Camp Wonder 2020: Camp Out! We always strive to make our campers, families and supporters proud by increasing our numbers, but equally measure our success by the words of those we serve. The response and attendance of our virtual sessions even surprised us! Our goal was to welcome 100 participants and, as you can see, we had 128!

As we pivot to meet the ongoing needs of our kids, we will be offering more sessions in the fall, as well as continuing assistance to families affected by loss of financial security due to the pandemic.
