Camp Wonder 2022

Staff: July 2 - 8th, 2022

Campers: July 3- 8th, 2022

After 20 years, The Taylor Family Foundation has ended the partnership with Camp Wonder, no longer willing to grant a 5-day session during their prime summer schedule of June or July, that would allow CSDF to continue to our legacy program at Camp Arroyo for kids and families impacted by skin disease. CSDF aimed for a solution that would keep Camp Wonder at our California home. However, we will always advocate for the experience and respect our community deserves.

While we are deeply disappointed by this turn of events, we are comforted knowing that Camp Wonder is greater than one place. As we have seen in the past two years, we are a family that will always find a way to come together to make an impact in our resilient community.

Camp Wonder 2022 will be held July 2 - 8, 2022 at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Georgia! Very thankful to have found a beautiful new home, filled with lots of new activities (archery, tennis, ceramics, media center, pool, lake, treehouse and more) to make WONDERful memories with our beloved community. The application process will stay the same. You will receive the application information in April. As always, CSDF will continue to cover ALL travel expenses for campers. If you were a local camper in California who has previously driven to camp, we will put all campers together on a plane to ATL airport to begin the adventure!

Our medical and director boards feel that with measures in place and given the current state of the pandemic, it is acceptable to host an in-person camp! Please see a list of new policies, that are subject to change with new information:

  1. Full vaccination (2 shots for Pfizer/Moderna, 1 shot for J&J) for an attendee 5 years and older will be required by July 1st.

  2. Every attendee will be required to present a negative COVID test no more than 72 hours before the first day of camp

  3. Every attendee will be tested for COVID at check-in

  4. Masks will be required (CSDF will provide masks)

  5. All pre-existing medical requirements will still be applicable (up to date on other vaccines, current TB test, no skin infection).

  6. Camp will be “closed”, meaning there are no visitors.

  7. CSDF will follow all local and federal public heath guidelines.

NOTE: Camper applicants must adhere to all vaccine regulations and have a doctor fill out paperwork confirming a skin disease diagnosis. We accept children regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.  For frequently asked questions, please visit this page.

REMEMBER: Camp Wonder is FREE to campers and their families! CSDF raises money to provide this empowering experience at no cost to any family, including travel, thank you to our generous sponsors.
